Christine Anstey - Artist Mentor

(she/her)

I learned to sew in childhood, from my mother and the other women of my family. I learned to quilt in my 20s when the rigid structure of higher education made me yearn for a return to creativity and the meditative drone of the sewing machine. I learned to prioritize my mental health, and physical wellness in my 40s when I again expanded my sewing practice to create my own small home based business. I have stood on the shoulders of those who came before and been embraced by a creative community willing to share their knowledge, tools, and resources. I am proud to provide support to emerging talent as a mentor through the LUCID program and am excited to assist in fostering their creativity.
