Archive Manager

Term of Employment: 6 weeks

Compensation: $15.00/hour, at 30 hours per week

HEIST is a live art company committed to creating, producing and presenting innovative, genre-bending and queerly playful performances in Halifax and beyond. HEIST is the brainchild and creative platform for Artistic Director Richie Wilcox, Technical Director Aaron Collier and Managing Director Sylvia Bell. HEIST is a collaborative arts organization looking for an archive manager. The archive manager will work with the company directors to organize, research and edit content and materials for the company archive. This position will involve a large amount of independent work sourcing and sorting various sorts of media. This position will also rely heavily on video editing, as a large portion of the job focuses on organizing the video archive of HEIST and their past productions/events. Familiarity and previous experience with Google Drive and Adobe Premiere Pro would be considered an asset. An artistic eye for editing would also be considered an asset. 


HEIST believes the key to success is open communication and discussion. As a team, HEIST uses Google Docs and Slack for creative and administrative communication and development, and the applicant will be included in this collaborative environment. HEIST has weekly full company meetings and the applicant will take part in these meetings and will have a voice at the table each week to speak and share ideas without fear of ridicule or judgement. We prioritize getting it right over being right, and pride ourselves in building open, engaging, safe and enjoyable teams.  


Please note: This full-time job requires the position, or at least a large portion of it, to be done remotely from the safety of the employee’s living quarters. It is required they have access to stable communication devices (phone and internet).


This position is a full-time position running six weeks starting July 12 at a rate of $15/hr for 30 hrs/week.
